Applying for Aid

联邦学生援助免费申请(FAFSA)和科罗拉多州国家财政援助申请(CASFA)通常在每年的10月1日提供. However, the 2025-2026 FAFSA and CASFA will not be available until December 1, 2024.

Families will use information from their 2023 tax year to submit either of these applications. Complete your application as soon as possible to be considered for the most financial aid possible.

The 2024-2025 FAFSA and CASFA are now currently available to be considered for aid in the Fall 2024, Spring 2025 and Summer 2025 semesters.

Financial Aid at MSU Denver

Financial Aid is available in the form of grants, work-study, loans, and scholarships, all of which help to make your college education more accessible and affordable.

获得经济援助的过程从提交联邦学生援助免费申请(FAFSA)开始。. Complete and submit the FAFSA as early as possible to be considered for the best aid available. Financial aid is awarded based on need, which is determined in part by annual income.

您通过FAFSA提交的信息将允许密歇根州立大学丹佛分校确定如何帮助您满足您的财务需求. To continue to receive financial aid throughout your academic career, you must submit the FAFSA every year.

Financial Aid Deadlines

The 2024-2025 FAFSA is now available.

MSU Denver has extended its target date to July 1, 2024 due to the Department of Education delay in processing and sending FAFSA information to schools. 密歇根州立大学丹佛分校将继续保持灵活性,并可能诉诸于延长教育部的这一日期,这并不能解决家庭在完成和提交2024-25年FAFSA时面临的许多挑战.

What to Expect After Filing the FAFSA

You may be required to submit additional documentation. Please monitor your Student Hub and MSU Denver email for any requests from the Office of Financial Aid and Scholarships.

Financial Aid Documentation

Documents Needed for the FAFSA

The FAFSA questions ask for information about you (your name, date of birth, address, etc.) and about your financial situation. Depending on your circumstances (for example, whether you’re a U.S. Citizen or what tax form you used), you may need the following information or documents as you fill out the FAFSA application:

  • Your Social Security number (it’s important that you enter it correctly on the FAFSA form!)
  • Your parents’ Social Security numbers if you are a dependent student
  • Your driver’s license number if you have one
  • Records of your untaxed income, such as child support received, interest income, and veterans noneducation benefits, for you, and for your parents if you are a dependent student

Documents Needed for the FAFSA

  • Information on cash; savings and checking account balances; investments, including stocks and bonds and real estate (but not including the home in which you live); and business and farm assets for you and for your parent(s) if you are a dependent student
  • Your Alien Registration number if you are not a U.S. Citizen
  • Federal tax information, tax documents, or tax returns, including IRS W-2 information, for you (and your spouse, if you are married), and for your parents if you are a dependent student

Keep these records! You may need them again. Do NOT mail these supporting records to the U.S. Department of Education.
